What I offer:
Many colleges provide accommodations but not wrap-around support. Capable students can struggle with managing deadlines, organizing their time, communicating with instructors or peers, and daily living skills. When these skills break down, students fall behind — even when they understand the material. I provide structured, practical support so students can participate successfully in all aspects of college and early adulthood.
I demonstrate how to start.
What this looks like:
I provide structured support to help you begin tasks that may feel overwhelming. I may be the one holding materials or technology while I explain to you what I’m doing. If it is a task I’ve never done before, I model taking risks as a learner and figuring it out.
Examples:
Creating a student account at your college
Finding the books you need for classes
Signing up for student health insurance
I work alongside you:
What this looks like:
Once you have some confidence and momentum with a specific task, we do it together or I work alongside you. We might both have a device and collaborate on the task or we work on different tasks while I provide accountability for making progress.
Examples:
Learning to use the bus system to get to class
Budgeting at the grocery store
Rehearsing conversations with peers or instructors
You practice independently when YOU’RE ready:
What this looks like:
When you practice a task enough times that you feel ready to take over on your own, you do. This might happen for one task before you’re ready to do another one on your own - and that’s perfectly okay. The important thing is that you’re in control of when you feel ready - not me.
Examples:
Setting deadlines for assignments and following through
Meal planning and prepping for the week
Finding social activities and attending on your own
Any task that feels overwhelming is something I can help with.
The more you experience supported success, the less intimidating new tasks will feel!
